Announcing RotU-Revolution cooperation with 3aGl3!
Posted by: Luk - 03.09.2014, 10:26 PM - Forum: News & Announcements - Replies (11)

Hey fellow players and CoD4-addicted,

I'm proud to announce that 3aGl3 (author of the Mod Return of Zombie Ops) has decided to join me in making the Call of Duty Mod "Reign of the Undead-Revolution"!

What does that mean?
More content! More awesome content! More unbelievably awesome content!

Okay, let me cool down a bit again.....

We're still setting up things, but as far as it went until here, the cooperation seems to be working out nicely.

I will still be the Project Leader of RotU-R, but the knowledge and experience of 3aGl3 surely will give us and the mod itself a boost in joy and quality!

Upcoming rename of the rotu2_dev mod folder!
Posted by: Luk - 26.08.2014, 02:14 AM - Forum: News & Announcements - Replies (4)

Dear players,

we are planning to rename the mod folder of our RotU-R test server from "rotu2_dev" to "rotu-r-alpha", which is the same name as in the public release. This way players will keep their rank when joining other servers with the same mod folder name.

In order to make sure your ranks are not lost by this procedure, the server has started recording your prestige level and rank 2 days ago. Whenever you have a new higher prestige or rank, we update our database with the latest information.
This process will run for about a week, maybe two weeks until we start the migration

So, this question might come up:
Question: What do I do to make sure my prestige level and rank are saved?
Answer: The minimum you have to do is: Join the server once. As soon as you leave the server, it saves your rank at the moment of leaving.

However, this process is not 100% reliable, because you might share the GUID/CD-Key with another player that has a higher rank that might overwrite yours (you can prevent that by buying this game which I recommend doing if you like it!) or your CD Key might have been in use when saving your rank. When the key is not in use during the restoration, your GUID is different and the system will fail to recognize you.

Here is how to be 100% safe:
Hold TAB while being on the server. You may need to scroll down to see your name. Now while holding TAB, you press F12 to make a screenshot. Your name, prestige icon and rank number should be visible, including the server name and IP at the bottom. This acts as a rank proof which we admins can work with. Please note that we only restore quite high prestige levels ( > 5).
The screenshot is located at "Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare\Mods\<modname>\screenshots\"
At the moment of writing this we have already saved 522 GUID + rank combinations (holy shit, but some of them are just 0 prestige and 0 rank. We will filter them out later).

Hello guys,

Just a notice, on 4 july our forum provider will change PHP handler from suPHP to PHP-FPM, shortly sayed: it changes the way PHP is executed on server,it should increase faster executing PHP apps and increase performance, just in case if there would be complication it can happend that during that day forum will be slower or it can went offline for short time, but dont worry i hope the transition will be smooth as the provider says.
